Go-Kart Restoration
Over the Summer I decided to begin restoring the go-kart my family had growing up. The engine was running (not well), but over almost 20 years of driving in the dirt it had more rust than it knew what to do with. My plan is to remove all of the rust on the frame of the vehicle, repaint it, replace old hardware, and eventually replace the engine entirely.

The first step was to remove as much rust from the frame as I could. To do that I disassembled the frame of the go-kart in order to access rust that was not visible while it was put together. This process was not easy and took almost two full days of work to do. The age and usage of the vehicle means that almost every bolt on it was rusted in place or had been stripped. This lead to the solution pictured below.
After getting it disassembled I then removed the rust from the surface of all of the frame pieces and re-coated them in a glossy black paint.
As of right now I am reassembling the Go-Kart and will update this post as I go!
